You must include at least one other piece

(that you wrote, a friend wrote, or a published piece).

This means the TOTAL MINIMUM NUMBER OF PIECES required is 11—You write four, a friend writes two, and you find four…plus one more that you choose.  However, you can include more than these minimums, if you want to.

The Introduction & Theme

In your introduction, introduce your anthology.  Tell about any theme running through your anthology.  Tell how you feel about reading and writing.  Tell about your feelings and experiences as you put your anthology together.  Thank anyone who helped you with your anthology.  The introduction should be about 400-500 words long.

Rules

Within the requirements, this is a creative assignment.  It can be typed or handwritten, funny or serious, dignified or wild, full of illustrations or just plain text.  Margins, spacing, fonts, etc. are all up to you.  Remember, however, that NEATNESS and CARE do count.  Be creative and HAVE FUN, as well as planning well and working hard.

Responses & Reactions

Your responses can be pictures, your own writing, tell why you chose the piece, why you like it, how it relates to your theme, or something more creative—a letter to the author or main character, a poem that summarizes your feelings about the piece, etc.  Somehow, represent your opinions or thoughts about each piece .
