A Doll's House has proven to be a remarkably relevant play, no matter when it's read or performed.  The messages espoused in the play--about marriage, women, and human rights--may not be subtle, but they are conveyed in a way that modern audiences seem to appreciate.  Our growing sympathy for Nora is always accompanied by an awareness of some injustice in our own life or society.
