We're reading the stories of Poe, so it seems like a natural stopping point on the internet might be Poe Stories, where they have the complete texts of the stories, and lots of information on Poe, in a well-designed site. In addition, they've got a nice glossary of unfamiliar words that show up in Poe's stories.

Turn up the volume on your computer when you head to Knowing Poe. Recognize that sound? Presented by Maryland Public Television, in the US, this is a well-designed, engaging site, and it's packed with good information and artifacts, too. Find out about Poe, his works, and his death. (Click on "It'll Be the Death of Me" to take your hand at solving the mystery of how Poe really died.) You can spend some quality time on this site.
The website of the Poe Museum, in Richmond, Virginia, in the US, is another beautiful site, with among other things a nice short biography of the writer.
For information about Edgar Allen Poe in Baltimore, Maryland, head to the website of the Poe Society in Baltimore. This includes an attempt to put all of Poe's writings--poems, stories, criticism, essays, letters--online for all to read.
"The Black Cat" was written while Poe was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the house is now run by the U.S. National Park Service.
Qrisse's Poe Pages are devoted to many aspects of the life and works, some serious, some not. It's part of the Poe Decoder, devoted to essays delving into aspects of Poe's work.
Another fan site, The House of Usher, says that it's been the "premier Edgar Allan Poe fan site" on the web for more than a decade. Click on "The Library" for what must be one of the most complete listings of Poe things on the internet, including video and audio.
Poe had a great interest in codes and ciphers (as you can see, for example, in "The Gold Bug"), and even had a weekly magazine feature for a time, in which he presented secret codes for the public to solve. In addition, he asked people to send in their own ciphers, claiming he would be able to de-code anything sent to him, which he proceeded to do for six months. He solved them all...except for two, sent in by a Mr. W.B. Tyler. Thus begins a mystery which eventually, more than a century later, ended up on the internet as the Edgar Allen Poe Cryptographic Challenge.
